DoorDash Drive
Dispatch a DoorDash driver from the order detail page whenever you don't want to deliver in-house.
DoorDash Drive is an on-demand courier you can call from the order detail page. Your in-house drivers still handle every order by default — DoorDash is just an extra option you trigger per-order, only when you need it.
How it works
Once DoorDash is allowed in a delivery zone, every confirmed order in that zone shows a Call Courier button. Click it and DoorDash sends a driver. Don't click it and the order stays with your team. The choice is per-order.
Pricing
Each call to a DoorDash driver costs $7. The fee is automatically deducted from that order's payout — only orders you actually dispatch get charged.
Setup checklist
- Enable DoorDash on the integrations page. This registers your chain with DoorDash Drive.
- Allow DoorDash in each delivery zone you want to use it in. Open the delivery zone editor and toggle Allow DoorDash dispatch on. The zone keeps using your in-house delivery by default — the toggle just unlocks the Call Courier button on its orders.
- Call a driver when you need one. On any confirmed order in an enabled zone, click Call Courier to dispatch DoorDash. Skip the button to keep the order on your own drivers.
Tips
- Tips go to the DoorDash driver. Any tip the customer adds at checkout is forwarded to the dasher, not retained by your restaurant.
- You're never locked in. A delivery zone with DoorDash enabled still lets your in-house drivers handle any order — every dispatch is opt-in.
- You can cancel. As long as the dasher hasn't picked up yet, the Cancel Courier button on the order detail page refunds the dispatch fee.
Already enabled DoorDash but don't see the Call Courier button? Make sure the order's delivery zone has Allow DoorDash dispatch turned on.
