Cart Abandon

Re-engage guests who left items in their cart without completing the order.

The Cart Abandon automation sends a reminder email to guests who add items to their cart but don't complete the order within a set number of days. It helps recover abandoned carts and potential lost revenue.

How It Works

When enabled, the system monitors guest carts. If a guest creates a cart with items but doesn't complete the order within your configured window (e.g., 7 days), they automatically receive a reminder email encouraging them to finish their purchase.

Configuring the Trigger

The trigger value sets the number of days after a cart is created before the reminder email is sent.

  • A shorter window (e.g., 3 days) sends reminders sooner while the order is still fresh in the guest's mind
  • A longer window (e.g., 14 days) gives guests more time to complete on their own before nudging them

To adjust:

  1. Go to Marketing → Automations
  2. Click the Cart Abandon automation
  3. Update the Days since cart created value
  4. Click Save Changes
Each guest receives the email only once per abandoned cart. If they abandon another cart later, a new reminder will be sent.
