Cart Abandon
Re-engage guests who left items in their cart without completing the order.
The Cart Abandon automation sends a reminder email to guests who add items to their cart but don't complete the order within a set number of days. It helps recover abandoned carts and potential lost revenue.
How It Works
When enabled, the system monitors guest carts. If a guest creates a cart with items but doesn't complete the order within your configured window (e.g., 7 days), they automatically receive a reminder email encouraging them to finish their purchase.
Configuring the Trigger
The trigger value sets the number of days after a cart is created before the reminder email is sent.
- A shorter window (e.g., 3 days) sends reminders sooner while the order is still fresh in the guest's mind
- A longer window (e.g., 14 days) gives guests more time to complete on their own before nudging them
To adjust:
- Go to Marketing → Automations
- Click the Cart Abandon automation
- Update the Days since cart created value
- Click Save Changes
Each guest receives the email only once per abandoned cart. If they abandon another cart later, a new reminder will be sent.
