Send Test SMS

Preview your SMS campaign by sending a test message before delivering to your audience.

The Send Test SMS feature lets you send a preview of your SMS campaign to a phone number of your choice. This helps you verify the message content, check how personalization variables resolve, and catch any issues before the campaign reaches your guests.

How It Works

  1. Save your SMS campaign as a draft
  2. Click Send Test in the top-left corner of the preview area
  3. Enter a phone number and click Add
  4. Click Send Test to deliver the preview message

The test message is sent exactly as your guests would receive it, including any personalization variables substituted with sample data.

Requirements

  • The campaign must be saved as a draft before you can send a test
  • A valid phone number is required

What to Check

After receiving your test message, verify:

  • Message content — Ensure the text reads correctly and there are no typos
  • Personalization variables — Confirm that variables like guest name and order details display properly
  • Message length — Check whether the message fits within a single SMS segment or spans multiple segments
  • Opt-out message — Verify the opt-out footer appears correctly if configured
Test messages use sample data for personalization variables. The actual values will differ for each guest when the campaign is sent.
